It Makes Me Want To Scream

I don't know if you have seen this new Visa check card commercial, it's been getting shown for at least the last couple of days. It takes place in some sort of cafeteria, and it shows everyone using their Visa check cards, and things are moving smoothly. The guy behind the counter is sliding their drinks down the counter, right as the people are ready to pick them up, the people finish their transaction, take their drinks and trays to their tables, start eating, etc.

Until one guy uses cash to pay for his meal, and everything comes to a screeching halt. It all falls out of sync, as drinks slide down the countertop uncaught and crash to the ground. And everyone stops what they're doing to stare at him. Not just the people in line behind him, but also the people who are already seated and eating turn around to look at this guy. The cashier is giving him this lopsided look like it's a freaking crime to expect her to make change. His transaction complete, he steps out of the way, and everything goes back to moving with clockwork precision.

Speaking as someone who likes to use actual cash money, I'd like to give this response to Visa - get fucked, you stupid bastards. Yes, heaven forbid anyone do things differently from anyone else! How awful that we expect cashiers to actually have to make change occasionally, and why the hell was the soda fountain guy just sliding drinks down the countertop without checking to make sure there was someone to catch it?!

Sorry. I know it's a commercial, but I really freaking hate it for some reason. Probably because it looks like that poor guy is getting ostracized for not having a Visa check card. It makes me want to find that cafeteria and use cash, simply to fuck up the neatly-planned days of everyone there.
