Trailblazers are busy

The Portland Jailblazers seem to be real busy this offseason. Not only a sign and trade deal involving Shareef Abdur Rahim. And now the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Damon Stoudamire will have they signed free agent guard Juan Dixon (former Wizard guard) but they also are in talks with New Jersey for be going to the Memphis Grizzlies. Stoudamire made 12.7 million last season and averaged 16 ppg and 6 apg.

Stoudamire is a solid point guard, but I hope that Memphis realizes that he is not a 13 million dollar point guard as his career averages of 14.6 ppg and 6.6 apg show. Not only that, but he obviously is not that bright. Of all the ways to try to get weed on a plain, the dumbest has to be putting it in tin foil. Good point guard? Yes. 9 million dollar point guard? Also, yes.
On a related note, the Rahim trade for a draft pick is a great move. Its time to get his salary out of Portland. Rahim is one of those players, such as Pau Gasol, who everyone expected to get better but who has obviously reached his potential. Getting his salary off of the books is a good move, I havent researched how strong next years draft class is slated to be, but regardless its time for Portland to move on.

The Trailblazers are so mismanaged. Picking up Dixon is one of the best moves they've made in years

Pau Gasol will has reached his peak, at least in real life. There's always ESPN NBA 2k5 for you Gasol fans out there.
But, for real, Juan may do big things in Portland.

He wants playing time, we just signed antonio daniels and chuckey atkins, so he aint gonna be getting it.

Wilbon is reporting that the Wizards might keep him, I hope they do but the backcourt is kinda crowded already

So is Dixon going to be like a mentor to Telfair, or his back-up or what? They aren't giving up on Telfair are they?

And as far as Abdur-Rahim, I think they'd be better off with him than Randolph, just because Shareef doesn't seem to get in trouble with the law or fight his teammates, and when you're trying to convince the fans to come back because you've "cleaned up" the team, it might be a better idea to get rid of Zach Randolph's also huge contract. Call Isiah Thomas, I'm sure he'd be willing to trade some good player for a head case.

Lol always with the Isiah hating.

No they are not giving up on telfair. Dixon is a pure 2 guard. He doesnt create his own shot off the dribble, but he can shoot lights out when hes hot. He knows how to set up off of picks, hes quick, and hes a solid defender.

The problem i have with Dixon though is that hes too streaky, also he tends to run away from the real good guards. What i mean by that is guards like Rafer Alston, Jason Williams, Mike James hell usually not defend as hard, i think its cus he doesnt want to get embarrassed
