T.O Flies the Coop

And now for news that should surprise no one, Terrel Owens has left Eagles training camp. It just happened an hour ago so no one really knows if this is related to his contract dispute, or if this has to do with his groin "injury". Either way this is funny. T.O has missed 5 of the last 6 practices. I guess when he and Rosenhouse said they were going to hold out of camp they were serious.

Unfortunately for Owens his not being in camp probably does not worry the Eagles organization. At least it shouldnt. Owens is known around the league for his commitment to staying in shape in the offseason and his workout regiment is second to none. Still this is a brilliant move. He gets to hold out of camp and not get fined at the same time. Brilliant simply brilliant.

This also goes far in the ways of the Eagles eventually releasing him. Which is of course what he wants. Ive said before that I dont think he will be with the team next season and the day the Eagles either put him on the trading block or realease him, 31 NFL teams will be interested......unfortunately for the Eagles, T.O knows that.

The sad thing is, you're right about 31 other teams being interested, although I wonder if teh 49ers or the Ravens really would want him after the crap he put them through.

TO is "expected" back on the 17th, which is, ironically enough, my birthday. At least that's what ESPN2 Bottom Line said last night during the Angels-A's game.

Should have just put this on the last comment, but whatever, is anyone else sick of the T.O. coverage. Everyday, NFL Live leads off with it, PTI has Owens and Satan, I mean Rosenhaus, on for the first NINE minutes of the show. How about talking about the other 31 teams? I need to know if Kurt Warner still has a functional right arm. Did Hines Ward get his new deal yet (I feel he's got a much more legitimate gripe than T.O.)? There is other stuff going on besides what's happening in Philly.

Here's why I figure Ward's is more legit. He's in the last year of his contract. Last year he was holding out, Cowher says, come into camp, we'll renegotiate. Ward comes in, the Steelers don't renegotiate anything. And now they keep saying if he doesn't come to camp, they won't renegotiate. Plus, Ward was making 1 or 2 million last year, compared to the 7 Owens made last year. Ward puts up numbers that are there with the best in the league, and does it on a run-oriented team (unlike the EAgles that are more pass-oriented), he does all those little things like blocking on running plays (looking at you Moss) and he wants to play for Pittsburgh, unlike Owens who just wants the money and don't care where he gets it. And he's not talking trash about his teammates, he's just asking Pittsburgh to do what they said they would.

^ All great points, however is T.O one of the top 3 recievers in the league? If so he should be paid like it.
